In “Familienlandschaft” (family landscape), textiles from the family and from the artist herself are used. They are made into a hand-knotted carpet with a colourful mix of colours and materials. The process of knotting follows less a fixed system and more a direct and playful approach. The large carpet and smaller carpet elements lie like moss over worked stones. They partly cover their surfaces and create a landscape where textile and stone meet. At first, the stones appear solid and give a feeling of support and safety. At the same time, they are hollowed out from the inside. Their emptiness can be seen from the side. The work is presented indoors. The stones and the carpet are placed on the floor, as if you could walk over them or lie down on them.
